Dr. Ciara Perez - Principal

Dr. Ciara Perez is now proudly servinng as the Principal of Savanna High School. Dr. Perez previously served as Assistant Principal of Anaheim High School since 2022 and has seventeen years of experience as an educator. Dr. Perez began her career in the West Covina Unified School District. She served as a classroom teacher, Teacher on Special Assignment for Curriculum and Instruction, International Baccalaureate Coordinator, and an administrator at Edgewood Schools. During her time at Anaheim, Ms. Perez oversaw the master schedule, Special Education, counseling, college partners, and special programs. Ms. Perez has led the College and Career Access Team, facilitated professional development in instructional practices to support students with disabilities, established schoolwide implementation plans, and was a part of the school's transformation to Senior Capstone Conversations and the development of student work-based portfolios. Dr. Perez believes in building relationships with all stakeholders and creating conditions that create a sense of belonging. She is excited to start her journey as part of the Savanna High School community.

Erika Yi - Assistant Principal

12th Grade Students, 9th Grade (Last Name G-N)

Ms. Yi joined the AUHSD team the summer of 2021 where she continued to serve as a school counselor at Cypress High School. Prior to that, Ms. Yi served as a high school counselor in San Diego County. While serving as a school counselor in SD, Ms. Yi also coached girls JV golf for four years. Ms. Yi earned her undergraduate and Master's degree in school counseling at Cal State Long Beach and completed her administrative credential through the San Diego County Office of Education. Outside of work, she likes to play golf, exercise/hike, and spend time with her friends and family. 

Ms. Yi is very excited to meet and work with Savanna HS students and families this school year!

Ryan Kile- Assistant Principal

Mr. Kile joined the Anaheim Union High School District in 2005, where he began his career as a math teacher at Anaheim High School.  Mr. Kile earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and teaching credential from Cal State Fullerton.  He earned his Masters Degree in Educational Administration and Administrative credential from Concordia University Irvine.  He is a National Board Certified Teacher, and his passion for supporting students, staff, and the community has led him to take on many roles throughout his career.  He has collaborated with multiple district-wide teams, participated in grant projects with university partners, and provided support to new teachers as an AUHSD induction coach and mentor teacher for teacher candidates. Mr. Kile is honored to serve the students, staff, and community at Savanna High School.

Juan Álvarez, Assistant Principal

10th Grade Students, 9th Grade (Last Name A-F)

Mr. Álvarez will be serving as Assistant Principal, previously serving as Assistant Principal of Sycamore Junior High School. Mr. Álvarez has taught math at South Junior High School, Gilbert High School, and Sycamore Junior High School where he also served as the Coordinator for the CSBA Golden Bell Award-winning Spanish Dual Language Academy. Throughout his career in education Mr. Álvarez has served as an Activities Director, Title I Coordinator, Department Chair, Coach, Mentor Teacher, and completed a semester as a TOSA assisting with Administration. Mr. Álvarez is a resident of Anaheim, lives within the Sycamore boundaries, and has worked as an advocate for students and their families through volunteer work and civic engagement. He brings a passion for civic learning, culturally responsive pedagogy, restorative practices, socio-emotional awareness, and equity. Mr. Álvarez looks forward to serving the Savanna community and hopes to foster the highest potential in students and staff.
