At SHS, our mission is to support diverse and innovative learners in reaching their highest potential through meaningful and challenging experiences so they can be successful in a rapidly changing world.
We feel the implementation of a new sports facility coincides directly with this mission statement. The new sports facility will allow students to have the most current and up-to-date equipment to excel and thrive in an ever advancing athletic arena. The main goal of this project is to lessen student sport activities being impacted from the one and only gymnasium. Due to Savanna High School only having one gymnasium, both male and female students have to share that facility. The new facility will accommodate larger sporting and district events, as well as become a new revenue source. Plus, events other than sports, such as assemblies, ceremonies, dances, and other student gatherings will have much more space for the students enjoyment. Through the creation of this sports complex, we feel it will boost school spirit, enhance participation, and strengthen Rebel pride.
